I've been jerked around trying to get catalyst drivers to install on my old HP Laptop for years. I am not a gamer I just have an external monitor on the laptop, it sits in the corner of my living room and I run cables to my cocktail table. My monitor croaked the other day so I bought a new one, not the greatest but I am pretty damn happy with it. It's an Envision e218c1, has a silly webcam built into it as well as a USB hub, that works nicely with my Logitech wireless keyboard and mouse, see you can tell I'm not a gamer, wireless controls are too slow for that, the host plugs into the monitor so I got rid of the usb hub I had hidden in the table. I uninstalled the ATI drivers, and installed Omega Drivers, a couple minutes and I have 1650x1050 running crisp and clean. If you have ATI drivers give these a try. This not a commercial site, this guy does it as a hobby!
Auslogics Software Pty Ltd located in Sydney New South Wales, Australia. Auslogics' specialty is personal computer optimization. "We know almost everything there is to know about optimizing computers, speeding up, cleaning and defragmenting disks and the Windows registry." I don't know if that is true but the free disk defragger works great. They have some other free products and I am thinking about buying their BoostSpeed product.
